IT Support Engineer

You will work on-site with our clients based in the capital in a team providing helpdesk support and project implementation. We have a reputation for providing high-level IT support in complex environments. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate that they can meet client needs with both technical expertise and empathy.

Our London IT team handle ongoing substantial projects for our clients (including server technology upgrades, SAN storage, virtualisation environments, LAN & WAN networking & routing, VOIP, backup solutions and new network set-ups). This provides our engineers an excellent opportunity to develop their abilities working on complex installations.

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • You will be an IT Support Engineer in a team responsible for IT systems (LAN, WAN, VOIP infrastructure, conferencing, desktop, server & network systems) of the clients designated

  • Helpdesk support

  • Software administration tasks

  • Operating, updating and developing monitoring solutions to ensure system health

Personal attributes:

  • Excellent communication and client service skills. Ability to speak English fluently is essential

  • Pro-active and diligent

  • Attention to detail

  • Adaptable to change. An ability to pick up new skills rapidly is fundamental to the role

  • A strong team player

  • Ability to prioritise effectively and handle a varied and high workload

Requirement for out of hours work on occasion. The role suits living in central or Greater London.

Salary: Competitive

Essential experience:

  • 1+ years IT industry experience

  • Microsoft OS support experience, including Windows 7 and 8 and 10

  • Microsoft Office support

  • Windows Server administration experience (2008/2012/2012 R2)

  • A good understanding of VoIP, IP networking, TCP/IP and connectivity, including configuration of switches, routers and firewalls

  • Proven troubleshooting skills

Highly desirable experience:

  • Administration of Active Directory

  • Experience of imaging and deployment

  • Experience with support of video conferencing solutions

  • Outlook/Exchange/Office 365 administration

  • Virtualisation interest and experience
